Harry Show, May 2017

Love GIRLS Magazine was invited to the Harry Show in May 2017 to talk about the important stories we feature in the magazine. I publicly discuss my struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts in my 2016 cover article, which helped us help more girls who were struggling.

How About HOPE

In 2015, I started a campaign called How About H.O.P.E. (Helping Others & Providing Encouragement) for mental health and suicide awareness. In 2019, we gained non-profit status and now provide a space to have honest conversations about what it is like to deal with mental health issues and suicide.

HOPE school tour

In partnership with the Cedar Rapids HOPE Walk and other community partners, I completed a school tour focused on equipping students of all ages with tools to recognize the signs of mental illness and suicidal ideation. I spoke to nearly 10,000 students in the states of Iowa and Illinois about what to do when you are struggling, how to help someone else and where to seek help in their communities.
